AMD wants everyone to Never Settle, but it can't actually force them. AMD announced what it calls the 'Never Settle' driver, a version of Catalyst Software suite, which could potentially tilt the price-performance ratios in its favor, against NVIDIA.
Whether that is true we'll have to find out in the next pages of course, where we have put the driver to the test. Some of the newer titles really benefit from the new tweaks.
But as stated throughout the scope of game titles you should be able to notice significant enough performance increases. The performance increases can be as little as a few percent, on average however we see an up-to 10% performance increase and in a case of two the performance benefit even reached roughly 20%
What we'll do today is take a Radeon HD 7950 (the new boost edition) and test it with the Catalyst 12.8 and 12.11 driver on the very same platform. Any little performance increase is a win. But let's head towards the next page where we will fire up the Guru3D benchmark suite.

AMD is getting ready for the holiday season and as such has launched the Never Settle Marketing campaign. We'll start off with that game bundle first, during the upcoming months when you decide to purchase a Radeon HD 7700/7800 or 7900 series graphics card AMD is going to give away free games alongside your purchase. These will be downloadable games.

The new AMD Catalyst 12.11 Driver
Now AMD has been working hard on a new driver as well. And we have been quite fond of it during our preliminary tests.
The past few months the driver team has been working on a series of driver optimizations. Interestingly enough, most games that we tested show some sort of performance increase, that's throughout the Guru3D software suite. The optimizations are for the GCN architecture based products only meaning Radeon 7000, the Radeon 6000 series will not benefit from the performance tweaks.
But next page please where we'll talk about that a little more.
